Mind Shift is currently a semi-finalist in the MN Cup Startup Competition. The last few weeks have been both exciting and exhausting. We attended "pitch night" on June 15th at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Each team was given one minute to "pitch" their company to the other semi-finalists in their category. It was amazing to hear from so many unique entrepreneurs. We had the opportunity to talk to Aleksey Polukeyev and Igor Fridman, co-founders of Queblo, after the presentations. They focus on removing language barriers for Spanish-speaking workers in the construction industry. Sounded familiar - Mind Shift focuses on removing barriers for workers with autism in the tech industry.
Since the pitch night we've attended several events to network and learn. We spent a lot of time developing our business plan, slide deck, and 1-minute video. Our mentors, Craig Vinje and Kelly Lucente, provided excellent insight into ways we could refine and improve our presentation. We submitted our materials last week and finalists will be announced on August 11th. Wish us luck!
